About Us
The MAEC service region (Region III) includes Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. At the request of school districts, school boards, and schools, MAEC provides in-person and online training and technical assistance to ensure equity and access to a quality education for all children, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or national origin.
MAEC develops and disseminates research-based resources designed to address the equity needs of students and helps schools and communities develop policies and procedures that sustain support for educational equity practices. MAEC’s information briefs focus on areas critical to the provision of an equitable education; forums and web conferences are interactive and designed to foster regional and inter-state collaboration and communication.
Located at The George Washington University’s Center for Excellence & Equity in Education, MAEC’s team of technical assistance coordinators, researchers, and other specialists bring a wealth of expertise on key equity issues.
