The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights provides information and assistance to parents, students, and institutions related to civil rights. School Law and Students' Rights

The Center for Law and Education is a national support center with expertise in the legal rights and responsibilities of students and school personnel. The Southern Poverty Law Center provides legal and educational programming to promote civil rights and end discrimination. http://www.splcenter.org/

Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) provides information, advocacy, and educational outreach to the Latino community. Its aim is to promote public policies, laws, and programs that safeguard the civil rights of Latinos in the United States. http://www.maldef.org/

 

Curriculum and Instruction

Teaching Tolerance a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, provides educational materials to teachers and other school practitioners on ways to reduce prejudice, improve intergroup relations, and support equitable school experiences for students. Dropout Prevention
